NEMU RESORT is currently selling an accommodation plan that allows you to savor Mie's three great flavors - spiny lobster, abalone, and Matsusaka beef - as well as carefully selected seasonal ingredients at the Kappo Counter of the Japanese restaurant Satoumi.
Satoumi is a Japanese restaurant with the theme of "a restaurant floating in the forest," where you can enjoy a comfortable space where you can feel the sunlight filtering through the trees. There is a special seating area limited to four people called the "Kappo Counter," where the chef will prepare the food right in front of you and serve it fresh on the spot.
Outside the large windows of the Kappo counter, made from a single piece of 250-year-old cypress from Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture, are evergreen trees such as mountain peaches, oaks, camphor trees, and white oaks, which are lit up at night, allowing you to enjoy your meal as if the restaurant is floating in the forest.
We will prepare and serve carefully selected seasonal ingredients, including the three great delicacies of Mie Prefecture, "Ise lobster, abalone, and Matsusaka beef," in front of you, while listening to your requests. You can spend a special time enjoying conversation with the chef, who travels to various places in Ise-Shima, a treasure trove of ingredients, and knows all about the appeal of food.

Outside the large window is the NEMU forest
Restaurant Satoumi uses delicate, light natural materials and indirect lighting to create a floating feeling, as if you were in the forest of NEMU.
The approach to the restaurant entrance features a distinctive wall that gives the impression of passing through the earth and emerging into a "forest (a restaurant floating in a forest)."
Upon entering the restaurant, you will see a bamboo partition called "Take Yatara-ami" that has been crafted by artisans in Kyoto to resemble a tangle of trees and a bird's nest, creating the impression of a "restaurant floating in the forest."
In addition, the partitions within the restaurant are made using kumiko, a woodworking technique that has been honed over many years since the Asuka period, in which thin strips of wood are cut with grooves, holes, and tenons, and then assembled one by one while being adjusted with planes, saws, chisels, etc. You can enjoy four different kumiko patterns, such as Asanoha and Seikaiha.
At Restaurant Satoumi, you can enjoy your meal while also experiencing traditional Japanese craft techniques made by artisans mainly from Mie Prefecture.
