[Announcement] Shima City Tourism Statistics for Fiscal Year 2025 have been released.

The Shima City Tourism Statistics (7 edition) has been released.
This statistic allows you to view various data related to tourism trends in Shima City, such as the number of tourists visiting and the number of overnight stays.

We encourage tourism-related businesses and others to use this information as a reference for future business planning and information gathering.

Overview

In 2025 (January-December), the number of tourists visiting Japan was 4,100,674, and the number of overnight guests was 1,515,542. Compared to 2024, the total number of tourists increased by 3.6%, and the number of overnight guests increased by 6.4%. In addition, the number of foreign overnight guests was 42,248, a significant increase of 26.8% compared to 2024.

The main factors contributing to the increase in tourist numbers include the hosting of the 44th National Abundant Seas Festival and the continued high visitor numbers of Shima Spain Village, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. These synergistic effects resulted in an increase in both day-trippers and overnight visitors throughout the city.

Furthermore, we have seen a particularly strong influx of foreign guests, especially from Taiwan and Hong Kong, which we believe is a result of the top sales efforts we have been implementing since last year.
