A Destination Management Organization (DMO) is a corporation that acts as a command center for tourism development from a regional management perspective, drawing out the region's "earning power" and fostering pride and attachment to the region. It is equipped with the function of formulating and steadily implementing strategies to realize tourism development based on a clear concept, in collaboration with various stakeholders.
In order to sustainably promote attracting tourists to regional areas and expanding travel spending, it is expected that DMOs will take the lead in "managing the entire tourism region," including further enhancing the attractiveness of the region and improving the environment for receiving visitors.

The Shima City Tourism Association, a general incorporated association, is working to develop tourism in Shima City as a "regional DMO" that targets Shima City as its marketing and management area.
Shima City boasts many attractions, including abundant nature, history and culture, the culture of female divers, food, accommodations, and a variety of experiential activities.
We aim to discover and promote the unique charms of this region, and, in collaboration with local residents, further enhance the appeal of Shima City and revitalize the local economy through tourism.
For future tourism development in regional areas, it is crucial to understand the current state of the region based on data, rather than relying solely on intuition, and to use that information to inform policy-making.
The Shima City Tourism Association collects and analyzes various data, including tourist trends, needs, and information dissemination status, and uses this data to improve tourism policies, promotions, and tourism content.
"Where are the tourists coming from?"
"What do you enjoy doing in Shima City?"
"What kind of information is needed?"
Based on this information, we will understand the current state of tourism in Shima City and use it to create a tourist destination that will make more people want to visit and return.
The Shima City Tourism Association's goal is not simply to increase the number of tourists.
Our goal is not only to create an attractive tourist destination for visitors to Shima City, but also to create a community where residents can feel, "I'm glad I live in Shima," and "Shima is a wonderful place."
Therefore, we believe it is important to create new value while preserving the region's unique charm, and to return the economic benefits of tourism back to the local community.
As a regional DMO, the Shima City Tourism Association will work together with the local community to create a sustainable tourism region, aiming to make Shima a "preferred tourist destination."
The Shima City Tourism Association has compiled its initiatives as a regional DMO, future policies, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), targets, and specific business activities into a "Plan for the Formation and Establishment of a Tourism Regional Development Corporation."
