To celebrate the 15th anniversary of its renewal, Shima Mediterranean Village will be holding a commemorative event with the themes of "photography," "travel," and "hospitality."
Shima Mediterranean Village was established in 1993 with the aim of becoming the ideal villa village for people who were fascinated by the beautiful scenery and resort life along the Mediterranean coast. Since then, as times have changed, it has transformed from a villa membership-based hotel into a hotel open to the public, and in 2010 it took a new step as "Village & Hotel Shima Mediterranean Village".

Masashi Asada (Photographer)
Born in Mie Prefecture in 1979. After graduating from the Japan College of Photography and Film, he worked as a studio assistant before going independent. In 2009, he won the 2008th Kimura Ihei Photography Award for his photo book "The Asadas" (published by AKAAKA Art Publishing in 34). In 2010, he held his first large-scale solo exhibition, "Tsu Family Land: Masashi Asada Photo Exhibition," at the Mie Prefectural Art Museum. In 2020, the film "The Asadas!", based on his books "The Asadas" and "The Power of the Album" (published by AKAAKA Art Publishing in 2015), was released nationwide through Toho, and he released his first new works in 10 years, "The Asadas: One Year" (published by Seigensha in 2020) and "The Asadas: One Year" (published by AKAAKA Art Publishing in 2020).
