The first new style sports tournament in the nation!
Shima City will hold a new style sports tournament, the first of its kind in the country, on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
We will be holding the "1st Surf Triathlon in Kokufunohama."
This is a multi-event competition that combines three events: paddling on a surfboard (approximately 1km), biking along the coast (approximately 1.5km), and running (2-4km).
Kokufu Beach is known as a "surfing mecca," but the waves are calm in winter, so it's a great place for surfers and even those with no prior experience to participate with peace of mind.
In addition, next year will mark the 80th anniversary of the designation of Ise-Shima National Park, which includes the entire Shima City area.
As part of our efforts to build momentum for this, we will widely promote the richness of the region's nature and its potential through a new "winter sports event" set in the beautiful location of Shima.
