[Event] "Satoyama and Satoumi Experience Festival" to be held in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Ise-Shima National Park!

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the designation of Ise-Shima National Park, the Satoyama Experience Festival will be held, where visitors can experience the connection between nature and people.

This special festival will be held in Ago Bay and the countryside, where you can enjoy a variety of exciting experiences unique to Ise-Shima, including a cruise experience, female divers' culture, nature studies, and kayaking, all in one day.

Experience Program Introduction (8 programs in total)

① The history of Ago Bay cruises and the Shima Kanko Hotel (Shima City)

Take a cruise around the islands of Ago Bay and learn about the history of Shima Kanko Hotel, the venue for the summit.
Along with the beautiful scenery, you can feel the history of Shima.

② Ama hut experience and beach cleanup with ama divers (Toba City)

Enjoy seafood while listening to the divers' stories at the diver's hut, and then join in on a beach clean-up.
Learn about the blessings of the sea and environmental conservation.

3. Lively! Enjoy! Experience life and play on Toshijima Island (Toba City)

You can experience the unique lifestyle and culture of Toshijima by walking the island's alleyways, picking seaweed, and collecting sea glass.

④ Hiking to the Ama hut and observing the rocky shore with the Ama divers (Shima City)

Hike to visit the diver's hut and observe the rocky shore.
The meal comes with a snack of grilled turban shells prepared by the fishermen.

⑤ Ago Bay Cruise & Craft Workshop (Shima City)

After taking a boat tour of Ago Bay and experiencing the nature of Shima, you can try your hand at crafting.
You can keep the memories of your trip in a tangible form.

⑥ [Living with trees] Learning about coexistence with nature from Ise Grand Shrine (Ise City)

You will tour Sengukan and the Outer Shrine with a guide and learn about the relationship with nature that Ise Shrine has cherished.

7. Help raise sea bream and grill sea bream in salted crust – Receiving life – (Minamiise Town)

You will tour a sea bream farm with a fisherman and learn the importance of "receiving life" through making Shiogama-yaki.

8. Kayaking on the Green Waterway that Connects the Forest and the Sea (Shima City)

Explore the waterways by kayak while experiencing the nature of Shima.
This is a popular program that allows you to experience the connection between the forest and the sea.
