
From August 8th (Saturday) to August 16th (Sunday), 2026, Grand Mercure Ise-Shima Resort & Spa will host "THE MATOYA TABLE ~2026 SUMMER~ - A feast from the sea, brought to you by fishermen and female divers -", an event where you can experience the food culture of Ise-Shima.
During the event, the dinner buffet venue will feature a tuna cutting show using tuna caught in the waters off Ise-Shima, as well as a beachside barbecue designed to resemble a traditional female diver's hut.
While savoring the bounty of the sea in Ise-Shima, you can experience the local food culture and the culture of female divers.

A spectacular tuna cutting show will be held, where skilled craftsmen will expertly cut up tuna caught in the waters off Ise-Shima.
While learning about the characteristics and different parts of each tuna, you can enjoy fresh tuna nigiri sushi after the dismantling process.

In a corner designed to resemble a female diver's hut, they offer grilled seafood such as turban shells and locally caught fish and shellfish cooked over charcoal.
You can savor the delicious flavors of fresh seafood while experiencing the traditional ama (female diver) culture that has been passed down in Ise-Shima for generations.

At the dinner buffet, you can enjoy local dishes unique to Mie and Ise-Shima, such as tekone sushi, Matsusaka beef hot pot with Ise red miso, and dishes using oysters from Matoya Bay.





Additionally, the on-site restaurant "Bettei Matoya" offers a special plan that allows guests to enjoy dishes made with ingredients from Ise-Shima, such as spiny lobster and Matoya oysters, paired with local sake from Mie Prefecture.
The event features local renowned sake, including "Matoyamaguri," a sake jointly developed by Sato Aquaculture Farm and Ota Brewery, along with other fine sakes associated with the region, allowing visitors to savor the unique culinary delights of Ise-Shima.
