Daiozaki Lighthouse, a scenic spot representative of Shima City, will celebrate a major milestone in 2027: its 100th anniversary of being lit up.
As part of efforts to build momentum towards its 100th anniversary, we will be holding the "Lighting, Circulating, Daiozaki Lighthouse" event.
This is a special evening where you can learn about the history of the lighthouse and the charm of the region, while passing on its light to the future.
Around the Daiozaki Lighthouse, the venue for the event, candles will be lined up, creating a magical atmosphere on the cape at night.
Additionally, a special nighttime tour of the Daiozaki Lighthouse, an experience not usually available, will be offered.
Enjoy a special night view while reflecting on the history of the lighthouse that has continuously illuminated the sea.
Furthermore, there will be cooking demonstrations and tasting sessions of "survival meals" where you can learn disaster preparedness knowledge useful in times of disaster, as well as a "darkness adventure walk" where you can check evacuation routes while walking in the dark.
This provides an opportunity to think about disaster prevention in an enjoyable way.
Daiozaki Lighthouse has been watching over the safety of the seas for over 100 years.
Please join us in enjoying this summer night, where we express our gratitude for the light and connect our hopes for the next 100 years.
