Tokano Tenno Festival is Tokano's biggest festival.
This is a historical event where mikoshi (portable shrines) are paraded around to drive away bad things and disasters from the island.
The parade that takes place on the main street is a clash between those who place the mikoshi and those who stop it, and the whole of Toganojima gets excited.
The chants and atmosphere of the festival, as well as the fireworks being launched in the background, are very impressive.
Please note that this year's Tokano Tenno Festival will only be a Shinto ritual (visiting a shrine), and there will be no mikoshi parade.
