Maruhachi Mochi Store

Akoya Mochi - Smooth red bean paste is wrapped in a unique dough and meticulously hand-painted with pink, yellow, and light green.

During the major festivals in Shima Town, these mochi are distributed among the townspeople. In return, Ago Town sends Kashiwamochi and Ibaramochi, while Isobe Town reciprocates with Sawamochi to maintain this cultural exchange.

Takeuchi Mochi Store

Since the first year of the Tenpo era in the Edo period, this traditional Japanese confectionery has been an essential part of Shima's local festivals. Please consider it as a souvenir from Shima

The 'Kinetsuki Sawamochi,' which won the Chief Judge's Award at the 22nd National Confectionery Expo, is made by thinly stretching mochi, cutting it into squares, placing sweet red bean paste in the center, and folding it in half.
