Tokujiro Iwanaka is a painter from Wakayama Prefecture, and for over six years from January 19, he lived as an evacuee at the foot of Yokoyama in Ago-cho, Shima City. After the war, he resumed his creative activities and won the Governor's Award at the first Mie Prefectural Exhibition in 1. Afterwards, Iwanaka moved to Tsu City and further taught at a university in the Kanto region, presenting his work in group and solo exhibitions throughout Japan and around the world.
Iwanaka stepped into the world of abstract works at the age of over 50 in order to explore the secrets of beauty and extract its laws. Since then, he has continued to create figurative works such as landscape paintings, while also working on many abstract works.
