Shima is a country of forests

There is the Sosou-no-Mori Yokoyama Rest House halfway up the mountain, and there are several walking trails starting from here and leading up to the top.
Known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms, many people from inside and outside the prefecture visit during the Yokoyama Cherry Blossom Festival (last Sunday in March and first Sunday in April).
The route from the promenade to the observation deck takes about 30 minutes while enjoying the rich nature.
