Kusunoki Shrine (Kusunomiya)

January 1nd of the lunar calendar is a festival day.

The official name is Kusunoki Gozen Hachibashira Shrine, and the deities enshrined are Izanagi no Mikoto, Izanami no Mikoto, and Kusuhime no Mikoto (Saio of Amaterasu Omikami).
The origin of this shrine is that during the reign of the 12th Emperor Keiko, Kusuhime, who was supposed to serve the shrine, went on a mission to Shima, the land of food, in order to obtain food to deliver to the shrine. . When she came to a small village, she was so fascinated by the beauty of the waves that crashed against her that she decided to call this village Namibari. This is how the place became known as Nanzhang.
After that, the princess settled in Nanbari and disappeared after reaching the age of 90, so the villagers, including the fishermen, planted a camphor tree there to honor her virtue. This is the origin of the shrine.
January 1nd of the lunar calendar is a festival day, and the shrine is crowded with visitors who pray for safe childbirth, long life, and good health.
